New 2 story Student Commons Building

“The 90” features residential dining, honors college private dining, and retail spaces on the first floor. This new construction features panoramic glass windows and 40-foot-high ceilings. Serving as a main dining and gathering location on campus, The 90 brings a sense of community to the university. The Commons contains 11 service platforms including a worry free zone for those with allergy sensitivities. The second floor offers a demonstration kitchen to educate on local and healthy food options available in the Lexington, KY, area that overlooks the main dining space as well as flexible classroom space and an emergency operations center. Incorporating cutting edge technology building systems with interactive service platforms, the building is LEED certified, in line with the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
