Create a Positive Environment
Interior design is really where architecture and people interact. It influences how people respond to each other and to the environment, and that is as important as the surrounding structure.
The first thing to keep in mind when designing interiors is how you are expressing the larger project vision. The finishes and furnishings of a space are what people interact with most closely, and need to be resilient and responsible, yet also need to be successful aesthetically. Good interior architecture communicates the nuances that the larger structure cannot.
Form meets individuals
We take interiors seriously because this is where the form and function of the building meet the individuals who will inhabit the space. Surface applications need to be integrated into the design of the building and need to work from a visual, tactile, and maintenance perspective. After all, every building looks great during the ribbon cutting; it is how it looks five years later that matters.
Interior Design needs to engage the senses of everybody who walks into the facility, even if on a subconscious level. Most people are too distracted to consciously analyze the surfaces they are touching, but they will react instinctively. We approach interior design by actively engaging all of the senses, even the ones beyond the first five.
