Betty the hedgehog is among the beloved animals receiving cancer treatments at Stephenson Pet Clinic, reports the LSU Reveille.”LSU’s 40,000-square-foot Stephenson Pet Clinic is the only full-service cancer center that sees animals in Louisiana. All kinds of animals, from cats and dogs to birds and hedgehogs, are brought to the clinic to receive the same cancer treatments that are used on humans: chemotherapy and radiation therapy.”
The technologies and machines in operation at the clinic are, in many cases, the same used on human beings. LSU Vet Med is dedicated to remaining at the forefront of veterinary medicine and serving the animals of Louisiana. Their research even seeks to translate into healthier humans too.
