Team Participates in CANstruction Design Build Competition

Special thanks to our sponsors: Cangelosi Ward General Contractors, Calandro’s Supermarket, and FastSigns

The Tipton team joined other Baton Rouge firms in the annual AIA Baton Rouge CANstruction event on Wednesday, August 26. Teams from around the city participated in this year’s build to collect food and raise awareness for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The theme this year, “Can Wars,” was channeled through Tipton’s 10-foot-tall Boba Fett can sculpture, complete with the signature dent in the helmet. Tipton’s build alone contained 3,400 cans and 330 juice boxes donated to the food bank. The competition took place throughout the Louisiana Art and Science Musem as well as the Atruim of the Shaw Center. All sculptures will be on view until September 15.

Canstruction® is an international charity that hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made out of full cans of food. The organization’s work has helped raise nearly 30 million pounds of food since 1992.
