The new teens wing of the Bluebonnet Library opened last week on Tuesday, January 5. The upgraded 4,500 sf wing is part of a multi-phase renovation to the branch. The design team added study rooms featuring marker boards and flexible seating, a multi-use program space, and a “makers room” with capabilities for robot building and digital production. An increased number of computer stations and new laptop bar are part of the now integrated technology in the library. The engaging space was brightened by replacing the ceiling and lighting fixtures, making it more energy efficient. Shelving was lowered for increased visibility. Bold metallic cobalt paint draws the eye to a large south facing window for a view of the wooded Bluebonnet Swamp.
