New Student Commons at University of North Carolina Wilmington

Plans are underway for Tipton’s new multipurpose student center at UNCW, which will be known as “The Hub.” The new dining commons is a ground up facility for the UNCW campus. In addition to serving freshly prepared food in an open marketplace environment, the campus intends to grow herbs and vegetables on site. Strategically located at the backdoor to the student housing, the facility is being designed as a community living room with lounge, study, and social spaces in the interior and exterior. Intentional landscaping creates the outdoor living room with great lawn and interactive water feature. Facing the Cross City Bike Trail, dedicated space will serve as a bike and board repair shop.
