Each station accommodates two crews simultaneously and includes office space, shared living area, private quarters, open truck bay and support space.

Tipton interviews with the paramedics indicated their frustration over valuable time used in backing the trucks into the bays. Tipton’s design response includes dual sided drive-through truck bays eliminating the need to back in.

Visibility underscores the constant vigilance of emergency response staff at all hours of the day or night.

Tipton Associates designed three new substations for the emergency Medical Services (EMS). Each substation is equipped with two drive-through truck bays to allow simultaneous operation of two separate crews. The structure is constructed of concrete masonry and brick with a metal roof conveying a professional medical image. Emergency generators ensure continuous operation and service to the public in severe weather conditions. This project has been recognized for design excellence by local and state chapters of the American Institute of Architects.

When we decided to build our first free-standing EMS substations, we knew we wanted facilities that would be as unique as the services provided by our Paramedics. [Tipton Associates] spent a lot of time trying to figure out exactly what our needs were and the image we wanted to reflect. These facilities far exceeded our expectations.
