The multilevel structures border the baseball field and connect the heart of campus to the alumni center as well as various athletic facilities, integrating Tech’s academic center with campus life and athletics.

As the first new student housing at Louisiana Tech in 30 years, University Park aspires to reinvent the current campus housing model. Thirteen low-density buildings are selectively placed on the 10.6 acre site to maximize preservation of the heavily wooded site.

The buildings form four distinct, shared commons that encourage various levels of student interaction.

The campus Alumni Walkway extends through the site. The walkway provides a continuous connection from the south campus, through University Park, to the Student Recreation & Wellness Center.

All phases of the project were completed within very tight time schedules and constructed within the funds available.

This new 15 million dollar housing facility, University Park, was a collaborative ABW Architects / Tipton Associates joint venture on the Tech campus. Completed in two phases, Phase 1 added 448 beds as the first new housing on the campus in 30+ years. Phase 2 added 160 beds and was completed fall 2008.
