New office building for administrative operations and volunteer training facilities

To ensure that the building depicted the organization as good stewards of privately donated funds, appropriate material and construction type choices pay homage to their donors offering an inviting, simple yet sophisticated environment.

With the organization’s mission to find homes for children, and their name literally translating to “house”, the design draws upon the imagery of a home blending into the historic neighborhood between a commercial and residential zone.

Maximizing operations through flexible programming, this multi-purpose space was designed to serve as their volunteer training facility as well as hosting community meetings or events.

An orderly floorplan streamlines operations and increases productivity, enabling the organization to better serve abused children in the Parish, while also articulating the organization’s core aspirations.

The final design solution takes cues from the vernacular and speaks to front porches, grand hallways and open living, maintaining its relationship with the community.

This Baton Rouge non-profit association, trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate for the timely placement of abused children in safe, permanent homes. After concluding a two-year-long capital campaign, construction for the new facility began on neighboring donated land. The new office was designed to foster more productivity, enabling the organization to better serve abused children in East Baton Rouge Parish. Designed in context with the historic neighborhood of Beauregard Town, the new CASA houses all administrative operations and provides training facilities for volunteers in an open, team oriented environment and layout.

It is often described as stunning and perfectly meets the goals we set forth – a central location for program operations and a marriage of historic Beauregard Town and modern functionality. Our new facility is the perfect space for staff and volunteers to coordinate their advocacy for abused children.
