After working at Tipton Associates as a student intern from 2015–2017, Chris James joined our dining studio full time in March 2020. He is an active member of Antioch Community Church, where he serves as vocalist and pianist for the worship team. As an architect, Chris is most interested in how architecture can address the environmental, economic, social, and political challenges of a community. Through intentional investment, buildings can be good stewards of natural resources, catalysts for resilient businesses, gatherers of people from diverse backgrounds, and promoters of equity and equality.

His extracurriculars are numerous and include running, tennis, piano, cooking, hosting family and friends, and experiencing new cities and cultures through travel. He finds time too to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge. His core values are summed up in Micah 6:8: “… to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly.”
